Construction Superintendent Position
The Superintendent is responsible for the on-site daily operations of a construction project from start to completion. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and accident-free work environment, maintaining daily logs, regular and ongoing communication with all parties involved with the project and exhibiting a sense of urgency to complete the project on schedule.
Minimum 5 years of superintendent experience is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a culture of safety at all times.
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients in a positive manner.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
- Reading, understanding and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and construction project schedules.
- Review the Building Specification to confirm material, subcontractor, and equipment criteria and identify potential project document conflict
- Prepare project schedule(s) and maintain them current for the duration of project.
- Review project plans and specifications.
- Attend / lead project related meetings.
- Schedule, coordinate and supervise all subcontractors and vendors.
- Procure materials and ensure timely delivery on site.
- Schedule inspections communicate with city staff and third-party inspectors.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports and keep photo records. Review project punch list and oversee completion of all project disciplines necessary to receive a certificate of occupancy
- Review, coordinate and implement the safety measures and applicable company programs for the project required to conform with OSHA standards and to ensure a safe workplace
- Utilize Procore project management software to manage all aspects of projects.
- Knowledge of field supervision and quality control of all phases of construction along with the ability to manage/develop field engineers and assistant superintendents.
- Document and complete Punch Lists in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience as commercial Superintendent.
- Experience with Procore a plus.
- Ability to coordinate and lead teams of tradesmen
- Strong understanding of construction operations and processes
- Ability to analyze and complete the project based on drawings and specifications, and to complete the project accurately, completely on time and on budget.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time in various types of climate environments.
- Ability to lift and carry large and / or heavy items.
- OSHA 30 certification (can be acquired upon starting employment)
