Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) specializing in neurodevelopmental and psychiatric care to perform comprehensive autism spectrum disorder (ASD) evaluations. In this role, you will lead the diagnostic process for children and adolescents, you will work within a neurodiversity-affirming framework to provide families with definitive diagnoses, resource navigation, and individualized treatment pathways. This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews, medical/developmental history reviews, and direct behavioral observations.
- Standardized Testing: Utilize standard assessment tools (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R, CARS, or MIGDAS-2) to accurately evaluate neurodivergence.
- Differential Diagnosis: Differentiate ASD from or identify comorbidities with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and other neurodevelopmental or psychiatric conditions.
- Documentation: Produce detailed, high-quality diagnostic reports meeting Washington Health Care Authority (HCA) and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) eligibility criteria.
- Collaborative Care: Lead feedback sessions with patients and families to explain results, answer questions, and recommend interventions such as speech, occupational, or ABA therapy.
Required licenses and certifications
- Nursing Degree: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution (MSN or DNP).
- WA State Licensure: Active, unencumbered Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license in Washington State (or eligible for immediate reciprocity).
- RN License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Board Certification: National board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC / CPNP-AC) with developmental expertise.
- Prescriptive Authority: Active WA prescriptive authority and a valid Federal DEA registration.
- COE Status: Eligible to complete the Washington HCA Autism Center of Excellence (COE) certification training program immediately upon hire (if not already certified).
- Life Support: Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-licensure experience conducting formal developmental or neurodevelopmental evaluations.
- Tool Certification: Formal training or certification in ADOS-2 and ADI-R administration.
- Framework: Demonstrated commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed care practices.
Pay: $75.00 per hour
License/Certification:
- ARNP (WA) or a license that is eligible for reciprocity (Required)
