Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Critical Care unit, specifically for night shifts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to best practices in patient management.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in critical condition, monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform advanced procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, and airway management as needed.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including triage and diagnostic evaluations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Educate patients and families on health management, discharge planning, and post-care instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety standards.
Skills
- Critical care experience with proficiency in ICU protocols and procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner for efficient medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Experience with various nursing specialties including emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, and trauma medicine.
- Competence in performing essential nursing tasks such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, suturing, tube feeding, and specimen collection/processing.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
