Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Complex Behavioral Supports Program Specialist to join our team. The Program Specialist is responsible for developing and coordinating active treatment goals and objectives for those served under his/her auspices. The Operations Director supervises this position.
Duties
Conducts assessments of assigned persons within 60 days of admission and then on a yearly basis
- Conducts ISP meeting within 60 days of admission and then yearly
- Completes ISP within 90 days of admission for new program participants that do not have an ISP
- Sends out invitation letters for ISP to appropriate individuals
- Sends out follow-up letters and copies of the assessment to the appropriate individuals
- Completes life time Medical History yearly
- Helps develop appropriate goals and supplemental procedures for each person on their caseload
Works with Supports Coordinators to ensure successful monthly monitoring visits
- Works with individuals outside of the agency on program issues
- Works with local schools to ensure that the IEP is followed
- Works with families to ensure their awareness of all program issues
- Participates in the development of IPP, ISP, and or IEP.
- Ensures that the program assistance they supervise are implementing each individual’s active treatment program as coordinated by the Operations Director.
- Coordinates with the Operations Director for the recreational, leisure, and community activities.
- Insures completion of daily living needs for all residents.
- Coordinates medical services.
- Monitors medication management.
- Manages emergency situations in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings.
- Attends required in-service training programs.
Is the primary contact for hiring staff at in their home.
- Recommends staff for exemplary behavior or disciplinary action when necessary.
- Supervises Direct Support Professionals, Program Leaders and Assistant Managers (when necessary)
- Supervises implementation of active treatment programs.
- Provides on the job training to new staff.
- Coordinates with the Operations Director for the ongoing training for the Program Leader to meet VCS’s annual training requirement. (40 hours per year), (10 hours quarterly)
- Schedules, monitors, and approves staff hours and time cards.
1. Posts staff weekly schedule.
2. Submits staff weekly schedule to the Mt. Pleasant office every Monday one week in advance.
3. Submits personal weekly schedule to the Mt. Pleasant office every Monday.
4. Work both day light and afternoon shifts each week.
5. Completes annual staff performance evaluations.
Qualifications
- Valid PA driver’s license
Education/Experience Matrix:
1. Completion of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 1 year work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability.
2. Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability.
3. Completion of an Associate’s Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years’ experience working directly with persons with an intellectual disability
Pay: $45,600.00 per year
