Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions efficiently and handle cash, credit, or digital payments with care
- Assist customers with product demos and upselling opportunities to maximize sales and promote featured items
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Manage inventory by conducting stock checks and assisting with inventory counts to keep the sales floor well-stocked
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support the team by supervising new staff members when needed and contributing to a positive team environment
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations to engage shoppers actively
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, giving correct change, and performing retail math calculations confidently
- Supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team leadership activities
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and customer service best practices to foster positive interactions
