Job Title: EHS Compliance & Systems Manager

Location: Hybrid- Need to be close to one of the plants
Travel: Up to 50% travel to plant locations as required
Position Overview
American Roller is seeking a dynamic and hands‑on EHS Leader to support and drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Environmental and Safety programs across our growing multi‑site organization. This role is critical to ensuring full regulatory compliance, supporting operational excellence, and strengthening a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a boots-on-the-ground leader capable of working directly in the plants, demonstrating best practices, coaching teams, and building scalable programs and processes that support both current operations and future growth. This role also requires a willingness to engage directly in the tactical execution of EHS work as needed, including hands-on involvement in data management, documentation, recordkeeping, and the practical administration of EHS requirements to ensure programs are effectively implemented and sustained.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Program Leadership
- Advance, enhance, and manage a comprehensive Environmental Management System (EMS), building upon existing foundations to ensure consistent execution, regulatory compliance, scalability, and continuous improvement across American Roller’s operations.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, permits, and reporting requirements governing American Roller’s operations, including program development, implementation, monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and manage all required environmental reporting activities, both routine and annual, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory alignment.
- Own the accuracy, completeness, and ongoing maintenance of environmental data, records, and documentation, including hands-on involvement in data collection, logging, validation, and reporting as needed.
- Directly support and maintain chemical management programs, including SDS creation, review, organization, and accessibility to ensure regulatory and operational requirements are met.
- Coordinate and manage environmental audits, regulatory inspections, findings, and corrective actions, including preparation, participation, documentation, and follow-up.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and environmental consultants.
Safety Program Leadership
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs across all sites, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and internal safety objectives.
- Oversee injury and illness recordkeeping, OSHA logs, incident documentation, and required internal and external reporting.
- Support and guide incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action development, and verification of effectiveness.
- Drive the ongoing evolution of American Roller’s safety culture through engagement, leadership visibility in the plants, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct and support risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), ergonomic evaluations, and development of related documentation and standard work.
- Provide hands-on support for safety program administration and recordkeeping as needed to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely execution across all locations.
- Administer the workers’ compensation process, coordinating with Human Resources on injury reporting, work restrictions, return‑to‑work activities, and documentation.
Training & Coaching
- Design, develop, and deliver EHS training programs for all levels of the organization, including onboarding, refresher training, and specialized environmental and safety compliance topics.
- Coach and mentor plant leadership and frontline teams through direct engagement, modeling expected behaviors, and reinforcing accountability.
- Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, standard work, and visual aids to support learning, compliance, and consistent execution.
- Support the tracking, documentation, and validation of training completion and EHS-related records to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and sustaining environmental and safety programs across multiple sites.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable EPA, OSHA, and state-level regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage EHS data, documentation, and records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work directly in plant environments.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
