The Sustaining Engineer/Drafting Intern position is responsible for creating CAD models and documentation in the development and/or improvement of Hammerton products to support manufacturing. Work may include modeling, testing, preparing product specific documentation for previously non-existent products, modifications of existing products, and developing tooling/fixtures necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Update existing catalog product to current standard.

Maintain manufacturing documentation of Hammerton fixtures for production using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Help create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for components and finished assemblies.

Modify existing product designs to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, or enhance quality.

Implement tools or processes for various manufacturing departments.

Communicate directly with the manufacturing floor to investigate drawing inaccuracies, production issues, determine root causes, and implement ideal engineering solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Currently pursuing Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.

1-3 yrs SolidWorks or similar CAD software experience preferred.

Must have mechanical aptitude and good spatial awareness to develop designs without construction conflicts.

Working Conditions:

Approximately 90% desk/computer work.

Moving about the building is a regular requirement to consult with sales and production teams.
