We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist who can independently set up, program (conversational or G-code), and operate multi-axis lathes with live tooling. This role requires strong blueprint reading, first-article inspection capability, and the ability to troubleshoot programs and tooling issues.
Location: Glendale Heights, IL | Onsite | 1st or 2nd Shift
Core Responsibilities & Required Experience
This is a hands-on machining role for someone comfortable running production independently.
What You Will Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes (multi-axis, live tooling preferred)
- Load programs and make offsets as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks
- Troubleshoot tooling, program, and machine issues
- Maintain quality and production standards
What You Bring
- 3+ years CNC lathe setup experience
- Experience with multi-axis lathes and live tooling preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments
- Experience making program edits or conversational programming
- Strong attention to detail and quality
