Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, highlighting daily specials and beverage options
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring prompt processing of sales transactions
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Maintain knowledge of wine pairings, spirits, cocktail recipes, and food safety standards to assist guests effectively
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and uphold sanitation protocols in food handling and serving areas
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or hospitality backgrounds
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for sales processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse needs gracefully
- Knowledge of beverage service including wine knowledge, spirits experience, cocktail preparation, and drink presentation
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a busy setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash handling procedures
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain necessary sanitation training prior to employment
- Previous experience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills paired with a friendly attitude that fosters guest relations
