Summary
In the role of an Entry Level Machinist, you will utilize your mechanical knowledge, shop math, and precision measuring instrument skills to contribute to the manufacturing process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
1) Working at the direction of the Production Supervisor, machine parts to blue print specifications on a variety of conventional and computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.
2) Ability to read, write, and change programming as required.
3) Record, in a timely manner, accurate production/material usage information to ensure the integrity and record accuracy of physical inventory and labor tracking.
4) Conduct first-part and other quality checks required.
5) Using precision measuring instruments, ensure that parts/products meet all design specifications.
6) Must own all the tools on the required tool list or have something on open order or credit until the required tool list is fulfilled.
7) Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and other equipment.
8) Work in other departments and job classifications as assigned.
9) Train others as assigned. Must be able to work well with others.
10) Keep machines and immediate area clean, neat and organized.
11) Facilitate the work of Great Bend industries by accomplishing assigned responsibilities in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
12) Work well with others to accomplish company objectives.
13) Work in a safe manner, supporting, by example, the Company’s safety policies.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Production Supervisor, Plant Superintendent and other designated company officials.

To perform essential functions of this job, the employee must:
1) Stand for extended periods of time on concrete.
2) Climb stairs occasionally.
3) Safely work and walk in and around machinery with moving parts.
4) Stoop, squat, bend and twist frequently.
5) Lift up to 50 pounds (overhead hoists available and to be used by employee).
6) Move arms, hands, wrists, fingers, and elbows for long uninterrupted periods of time, including pushing and pulling motions.
7) Apply maximum pressure with hands, wrists, fingers and elbows frequently.
8) Turn head and neck.
9) Move legs, feet, knees and ankles for long uninterrupted periods of time.
10) Operate overhead lift equipment frequently.
11) Operate automotive and industrial lift truck equipment occasionally if licensed as required.
EQUIPMENT:
Work shall be performed with tools, appliances, and equipment as approved by those agencies and bodies that have control, authority or approval of the design working ranges or limitations of those items; the employee has the responsibility to conform to those ranges and limitations.
Manufacturing equipment, precision measuring instruments, overhead lift equipment, walk-behind lift equipment, push carts, industrial lift truck (if licensed), telephone, calculator, hand tools, and other equipment as needed.
