Seeking: Part –Time Venue Cleaner – Out of the Box Theatrics
DESCRIPTION
Out of the Box Theatrics is seeking an experienced, dependable venue cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at St. Luke’s Theatre. The position requires cleaning the space three to four times per week, with occasional additional hours for a monthly deep cleaning.

Position:
- Part-Time, onsite in Midtown Manhattan
- Approximately 20 hours per week across 4 days, with some scheduling flexibility
- $22/hour
- W2 Employment
- All equipment and supplies will be provided onsite
What We're Looking For:
- Strong attention to detail
- A positive attitude
- A consistent record of arriving on time and completing assigned work independently
- Availability and willingness to work additional hours once per month for a scheduled deep cleaning
- Ability to follow a provided cleaning checklist and maintain the venue in accordance with the standards required by the actors' union.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
Primary Responsibilities:
- Empty trash and recycling bins, replace liners, and move waste to the designated collection area.
- Clean and dust the office, greenroom, and dressing rooms, including vacuuming all applicable areas and disinfecting all work surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, railings, light switches, and shared fixtures.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize the lobby, theater, and greenroom restrooms, including the greenroom showers.
- Removed dust from base boards and vents to support good air quality throughout the venue.
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in the theater, lobby, greenroom, office, and dressing rooms.
- Restock restroom and venue supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Complete a scheduled deep cleaning once per month, with additional paid hours as needed.
- Report maintenance concerns, damage, spills, pests, or safety hazards promptly to the Associate Producer.
- Complete a final walkthrough after each sift and confirm that assigned areas meet the cleaning checklist.
- Follow product labels and venue safety procedures when using and storing cleaning supplies.
- Maintain an orderly cleaning supply closet. Inform Office Manager of cleaning supply needs, before running out of products.
Reports To: Associate Producer
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
- The tentative schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, during non-production hours, preferably in the mornings.
- Alternative days and time frames may be discussed based on production needs and candidate availability.
