Position Summary
Athens Paper is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Shuttle Driver to transport freight between our warehouse in Chattanooga, TN and our headquarters in Nashville, TN. This role supports a multi-location wholesale distribution operation and is ideal for drivers looking for flexible night schedules while being home daily.
Schedule
· Sunday through Thursday
· 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) with a GVWR of up to 80,000 pounds
- Transport freight between multiple Athens Paper divisions
- Drive for the majority of the assigned shift
- Load and unload freight as required using powered industrial equipment
- Accurately complete and manage freight documentation, including bills of lading
- Maintain DOT-compliant driver logs using an electronic logging device (ELD)
- Inspect vehicle and equipment to ensure cleanliness and safe operation
- Report road incidents, safety concerns, or mechanical issues promptly
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of OTR driving experience (preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL
- Possess and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card
- Ability to operate pallet jacks (powered and manual)
- Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and ethical conduct

- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Availability to work night shifts
