Our staff works to change the world, one life at a time, by helping students reach their dreams through education. The MCCC is looking for a skilled person who possesses the same passion. The qualified candidate will assist the Instructor in developing and teaching all phases of the program curriculum, monitor and evaluate student progress, maintain student records in accordance with accreditation standards, and aid the instructor in any manner to improve classroom participation, organization, and safety.
Please note that this position is employed through the Medina County ESC, as they serve as the employing agency responsible for assisting with the Educational Aide Permit process and providing the required annual training. Your paycheck and employment records will be processed through the Medina County ESC; however, your daily work assignment will be at the Medina County Career Center (MCCC).

SALARY: $17.75 - $20.59 an hour
REPORTS TO: Principal or Designee
BENEFIT PACKAGE: One approved personal day, sick days.
WORK-WEEK/YEAR: Student days and length of time are to be determined.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid Ohio Aide credential, or the ability to obtain one. Ability to assist with class activities. Help students understand and complete assignments or reinforce lessons individually or in small groups. Supervise and monitor students during classroom time and in non-instructional settings (hallways, playground, cafeteria, field trips) to ensure safety. Maintain discipline and restore order in the classroom when the teacher is not present. Prepare learning materials: photocopy worksheets, set up lessons, and gather supplies. Under teacher review, assist with record-keeping: take attendance, collect student work, and help with grading tasks. Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior strategies under teacher/specialist supervision. Integrity with high standards of honesty, ethics, and personal conduct. The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, classified personnel, and community members. A keen belief in the value and worth of career and technical education, coupled with robust academic offerings. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Previous classroom aide experience. Experience working in a career-technical environment. Experience working with High School students. Current First Aid/CPR/AED, OSHA certifications.
