Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team in providing high-quality mental health care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with expertise in psychiatry and a commitment to improving the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. This role involves working with patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient clinics, and utilizing both traditional and telehealth methods to deliver effective treatment.
Physician Compensation
Rice Clinic utilizes a receipts-based compensation model, allowing physicians to directly benefit from the revenue they generate. Physicians are compensated for all clinical services performed, in accordance with the clinic's compensation agreement.
Based on expected patient volume and productivity, physicians have the potential to earn $375,000 or more annually, with no predetermined cap on earnings. This model rewards productivity while providing physicians with the opportunity to maximize their income through a growing and successful practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including clinical interviews, review of medical and psychiatric histories, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health disorders using evidence-based practices and DSM-5 criteria.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychotherapy, referrals, and coordination of care based on each patient's clinical needs.
- Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications while educating patients on expected benefits, risks, side effects, and treatment adherence.
- Inpatient Hospital Coverage: Provide psychiatric consultations, admissions, follow-up care, and discharge planning for patients at Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital (JRSH) and psychiatric consult services at Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) as assigned.
- Outpatient Clinical Care: Provide ongoing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care for patients seen at Rice Clinic.
- Crisis Intervention: Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies, including suicide risk assessments, involuntary commitment evaluations, and stabilization of patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, social workers, primary care providers, hospital staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families regarding psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, medication management, and strategies to support recovery and long-term wellness.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain timely, accurate, and complete medical records in accordance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, HIPAA requirements, and professional standards.
- Quality Improvement and Professional Development: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and continuing medical education to remain current with advancements in psychiatric care and evidence-based treatment practices.
- On-Call and Coverage Responsibilities: Participate in call schedules and provide coverage for Rice Clinic, JRSH, and JRMC consult services as needed to ensure continuity of patient care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- Current, unrestricted Arkansas medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
- Current DEA registration and Arkansas Controlled Substance License (or ability to obtain).
- Eligible for credentialing and privileging with Rice Clinic and affiliated hospitals.
- Experience providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for children, adolescents, and/or adults.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with therapists, nurse practitioners, primary care providers, and other members of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based psychiatric care.
- Ability to provide outpatient services, inpatient hospital coverage, and psychiatric consultations.
- Willingness to provide coverage for Rice Clinic, Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital (JRSH), and Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) consult services.
- BLS certification (preferred) and ACLS certification (preferred for physicians providing inpatient coverage).
- Previous experience in community mental health or integrated behavioral health settings is preferred but not required.
