Position Summary
St. Michael Lutheran School is seeking a nurturing, energetic, and Christ-centered Pre-Kindergarten 3 Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of three-year-old children.
The Pre-K 3 Teacher will integrate Christian values and teachings into daily classroom activities while fostering a love of learning and helping children develop the skills necessary for future academic success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development.
- Integrate Christian principles and Lutheran values into daily instruction and classroom interactions.
- Observe and assess student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student development and classroom activities.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized learning environment.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, playground time, and special events.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
- Follow all school policies, licensing requirements, and state regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to supporting the Christian mission and values of St. Michael Lutheran School.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Experience in a Lutheran or Christian school setting.
- Early Childhood Education certification or endorsement.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to supervise and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and move frequently throughout the workday.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass Level 2 fingerprinting and background screening prior to employment.
