Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Crew Chief to lead and oversee erosion control, landscaping and stormwater management projects within our company. As a key working leader, you will manage a small team of 2 to 5 employees, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all standards. This hands-on role requires physical labor, equipment operation, problem-solving on-site, and professional communication with clients across the metro area. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in construction or civil site-work and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small field crew to successfully complete erosion control, landscaping and stormwater management projects.
- Perform physical tasks including manual labor, equipment operation, and site work.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Troubleshoot on-site issues promptly to minimize delays.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members to coordinate project activities.
- Maintain equipment and enforce safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in planning daily work schedules and resource allocation to optimize productivity.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction, erosion control, landscaping and stormwater management, or related fields.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a small team.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate construction equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adherence to safety procedures.
- Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class A CDL preferred as driving company vehicles is required.
- At least one year of experience in erosion control, landscaping, civil site-work, or related fields with leadership responsibilities.
- Minimum of one year of skid steer operation experience.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., walk on uneven terrain, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Certifications such as CISEC, CPESC, or local stormwater management certifications are a plus but not required.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
