Job Title: Opening Bartender
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Opening Bartender to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing the bar for daily service, ensuring all supplies are stocked and organized, and delivering exceptional guest service from the moment we open. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working independently while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time to open and prepare the bar before service begins.
- Set up the bar, including stocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and supplies.
- Ensure all bar equipment is clean, operational, and ready for service.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and company standards.
- Provide friendly, attentive service to guests and create a welcoming environment.
- Verify guests' legal drinking age and comply with all alcohol service laws and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar throughout the shift.
- Process guest payments accurately using the POS system.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Assist with opening-side work and support the team as needed during slower periods.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize opening responsibilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must meet the minimum legal age requirement to serve alcohol.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience opening or closing a bar or restaurant.
- POS system experience.
- TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or equivalent certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
Schedule
- Daytime shifts.
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
