Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Contracting Specialist is responsible for researching & recruiting new subcontractors, the initial sub-contractor contracting process, and ensuring subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations.
The typical working condition for this position is an indoor office, climate-controlled environment with controlled lighting and noise levels. The job may require extended periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and/or lifting of at least 25 lbs. The use of a computer or other office equipment(s) is also a requirement. Some evening and/or weekend work and light travel may be necessary.
Essential Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Research potential new subcontractors in new and existing areas depending on the dispatch department’s needs and any new client contracts.
- Helps oversee the onboarding of subcontractors to include contracting and credentialing.
- Helps oversee the daily flow of credentialing documents from pending new subcontractors to ensure timely compliance with contracts.
- Runs monthly report on pending Medi-Cal enrollments and gets monthly updates from those subcontractors pending Medi-Cal.
- Verifies provider documents and ensures that they meet contract requirements as well as scan and maintain documents in credentialing portal.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, transportation providers and other stakeholders.
- Works with the Manager/ Director to help maintain consistent contact with transportation providers to ensure that expectations are clear, and requirements are completed in a timely manner.
- Works closely with the Dispatch Department to ensure any network inadequacies are filled by outreach to more providers.
- Works with other departments for contracting related items.
- Records and distributes bus passes to members for specific clients.
- Make observations and recommendations for improvement to leadership.
- Maintains clear communication between Providers, Drivers, and leadership.
- Maintains 100% accuracy with all aspects of the position.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
