Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Spanaway, WA
Start Date: August 5, 2026
Duration: 43 Weeks (2026–2027 School Year)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Requirements
- Active Washington State Special Education (SPED) Endorsement
- License/credential preferred at submission (must be issued before start date)
- Previous Special Education teaching experience preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
Assignment Highlights

- Client is actively interviewing candidates
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction based on students' educational needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and multidisciplinary teams
Submission Requirements
- Washington SPED endorsement required (or issued before start date)
- Bill rate is firm
- School placement (Elementary or Preschool) will be determined by the district
- District can expedite certification processing but does not apply on behalf of candidates
Experience:
- Strong communication and classroom management skills: 1 year (Preferred)
- Previous Special Education teaching : 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Active Washington State Special Education (SPED) Endorsement (Required)
