We are seeking an experienced and dependable Medical Assistant through one of the following: AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, MMCI to join a professional healthcare team within a correctional facility in San Diego, CA. This position offers a stable schedule during a 6-month assignment with opportunity to extend.
Schedule Details:
- Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
- Orientation Schedule: Monday – Friday (first 2 weeks, paid)
In this role, the Medical Assistant will support daily clinical operations, including patient intake, vital signs, documentation, and assisting medical providers, while following established medical and security protocols. You will work collaboratively with healthcare and custody staff to provide efficient, professional patient care in a secure setting.

Required Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant license/certification
- Minimum 1 year of continuous Medical Assistant experience within the last 3 years
- Government‑issued photo ID
- Ability to pass a background check (required for correctional clearance)
- Three professional references
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
- Comfort working in a secure correctional healthcare environment
Additional Requirement
- Applicants who previously worked as a civil servant must have been retired from civil service for a minimum of one (1) year prior to working with our registry agency.
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
