Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment by performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components.
- Conduct repairs using welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to fix equipment or structural issues efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose problems and implement solutions.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical circuits and automation systems.
- Execute residential painting projects to enhance property aesthetics and protect surfaces from wear.
- Operate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks.
- Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects while ensuring safety standards are met at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant or resident concerns promptly and professionally.
- Lead small teams or coordinate with contractors during complex repair or renovation projects.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in electrical work, including schematics reading, troubleshooting with ohmmeters, and understanding PLC systems.
- Skilled in welding techniques for metal repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Experience in residential painting to improve property appearance.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Supervising experience or demonstrated leadership skills in team settings.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear instructions and customer interactions.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to electrical work, welding, and general maintenance procedures.
