SAC is looking for a dedicated employee with interest in the purchasing field. The ideal candidate will be task-oriented and will have experience in procurement of materials, communicating with vendors, and inventory control. This role will work directly with our fabrication and project management teams in our Clearfield, UT & Ogden, UT facilities!
Typical Responsibilities
- Solicit quotations and issue purchase orders to vendors
- Monitor and manage existing material inventory
- Negotiate pricing and regular agreements with long-term vendors
- Monitor progress of deliverables to be sure we are on track to meet client expectations
- Manage shortage, long-lead or quality issues with vendors
- Execute all purchasing & inventory transactions within Microsoft GP & Microsoft CRM
- Assist with process development and improvement to support growth and AI integration
Desired Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a steel production or construction environment is preferred
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment
- Processed-oriented mindset to support workflow automation, preferably comfortable using AI
- Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization
- Problem-solving & critical thinking skills, along with the confidence to make decisions independently
- Must possess the following skills: organization, time-management, detail-oriented mindset and creativity
