Duties
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and addressing any concerns
- Operate MRI scanners with precision, following established protocols to obtain clear, diagnostic-quality images
- Position patients accurately to target specific areas of the body for optimal imaging results
- Monitor patients throughout the procedure, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Maintain detailed records of each scan, including technical parameters and patient information
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to review images and assist in diagnosis
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of MRI equipment to ensure peak performance and safety standards are met
Requirements
- Certification as an MRI Technologist from an accredited program or professional organization (e.g., ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- Proven experience operating MRI equipment in a clinical setting, with a strong understanding of imaging protocols and safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety standards applicable to MRI procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues promptly and effectively
