We’re looking to have a friendly, licensed Dental Hygienist join our team. The oral health professional we select will examine patients for signs of oral disease, perform preventive cleanings, take X‑rays, educate patients on proper daily dental care, and work closely with our dentists in a state‑of‑the‑art private practice setting to help patients maintain healthy teeth and gums.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Patient Assessment
- Review medical and dental histories.
- Conduct initial oral screenings.
- Identify conditions such as gingivitis, periodontitis, or signs of oral cancer.
Preventive Care
- Remove plaque, tartar (calculus), and stains using manual and ultrasonic instruments.
- Ensure patients are scheduled for recall appointments and any needed restorative treatments.
Diagnostics
- Take, process, and interpret dental X‑rays or digital images.
Treatments
- Apply cavity‑protecting agents, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants.
Patient Education
- Teach proper brushing and flossing techniques.
- Provide guidance on diet and nutrition as they relate to oral health.
-Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure privacy and security of patient information.
- Experience working with related dental codes and procedures is a plus.
Documentation
- Proficieny with dental software platforms including Eaglesoft
- Maintain accurate patient charts, treatment plans, clinical notes, and records.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
Licensure
- Valid state or regional dental hygiene license.
- Current CPR certification.
Dexterity
- Strong fine motor skills to safely and precisely work with instruments in tight interproximal spaces.
Communication
- Compassionate interpersonal skills to ease anxious patients and clearly explain oral care plans.
- Comfortable working with diverse populations and cultural differences.
Attention to Detail
- Strict adherence to safety protocols, sterilization procedures, and infection control standards.
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
