Wm. F. Meyer Co. is a family-owned plumbing supply distributor that has proudly served contractors and customers throughout Chicagoland for generations. We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Plumbing Counter Sales & Customer Service Representative to join our Aurora team.
In this position, you will help plumbing professionals and other customers find the products they need, process orders, answer product questions, and provide the friendly, knowledgeable service our customers expect.
Plumbing industry experience is helpful but not required. We provide on-the-job training for the right person who brings a positive attitude, strong customer-service skills, and a willingness to learn.
Duties
- Greet customers and assist with product purchases and order pickups.
- Enter and process customer sales orders accurately and efficiently.
- Provide product information, pricing, specifications, and availability.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist with customer questions.
- Process cash sales, returns, credits, and related paperwork.
- Develop strong customer relationships through dependable and professional service.
- Work closely with warehouse and sales team members to ensure orders are filled accurately and on time.
- Keep the sales counter and merchandise displays clean, organized, stocked, and professional.
- Learn about plumbing products, including pipe, valves, fittings, and related supplies.
Skills
- One to two years of sales or customer-service experience is preferred.
- Plumbing supply or industry experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, helpful, and professional attitude.
- Dependability and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A willingness to learn about plumbing products and grow with the company.
- Availability to work the listed weekday and Saturday schedule.
Compensation
Starting pay is $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on relevant experience, product knowledge, and customer-service skills. Eligible overtime is paid in accordance with applicable law.
