Shift: Night Shift | 12-Hour Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay Rate: $22.32/hour + $2.00/hour Night Shift Differential
Retention Bonus
To reward long-term commitment, this position offers a $2,000 retention bonus, paid as follows:
$1,000 after successfully completing 90 days of employment
$1,000 after successfully completing 180 days of employment
Please note: This is a retention bonus and is not paid at the time of hire.
Summary Description
The Mounter/Proofer I is responsible for mounting printing plates, preparing production proofs, and verifying print quality prior to production. This role ensures printing plates, cylinders, and proofs meet both company and customer specifications while supporting efficient press operations. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Mount printing plates and prepare production proofs according to customer specifications and company quality standards.
Verify plate registration, print quality, and overall printability before production begins.
Inspect mounted cylinders and proofs to ensure accuracy and quality.
Read and interpret work orders, artwork, specification sheets, samples, and production documentation.
Verify the correct printing plates, cylinders, and quantities are available before mounting.
Report any discrepancies or issues with work orders, artwork, or printing plates to the Team Leader before production.
Clean and inspect cylinders for defects prior to mounting.
Mount printing plates using the appropriate mounting materials and positioning techniques.
Verify repeat measurements, bag length, print registration, and overall print accuracy after mounting.
Complete mounting assignments efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
Report equipment malfunctions or facility issues to the Team Leader or Maintenance department.
Maintain a clean, organized work area that complies with AIB, HACCP, and company safety standards.
Assist with training new Mounters as needed.
Support plant inventory activities when requested.
Assist other departments with tasks such as cleaning anilox rollers and operating Global Vision software for the press department.
Follow all company policies, food safety procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Production Manager.

You have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
You have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
You can read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
You have experience with color matching, inks, or printing processes.
You have experience in prepress, graphics, printing, color management, or a related manufacturing environment.
You can read and interpret work orders, artwork, specification sheets, and technical documentation.
You have basic mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with precision equipment.
You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
You possess solid math skills and analytical abilities.
You are comfortable using production software and technical systems.
You can safely use ladders and lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
You enjoy working collaboratively across multiple departments in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with flexographic printing, plate mounting, or proofing equipment is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
Safely use platform ladders.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Retrieve materials from elevated storage locations.
Maintain focus and attention to detail while working in a manufacturing environment.
