Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our dynamic care team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional support to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or personal care homes, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your expertise will help enhance the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, dementia, or memory care requirements. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure health stability.
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed documentation within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing personalized memory care strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social engagement.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met.
- Drive residents when required for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety and adherence to transportation policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with seniors in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory support techniques.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly preferred.
- Experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring is essential.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of resident care activities.
- Ability to assist with ADLs using appropriate caregiving techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, and families. Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
