Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our dynamic well established 36 year-old optometric practice. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory procedures, including specimen collection, multiple imaging testing to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. Expertise and commitment for caring in direct patient encounters will contribute to the delivery of high-quality clinical services. This position requires working efficiently where precision, and communication skills are essential with all ages of patients. The ideal candidate will bring strong communications skills, with an eagerness to learn new diagnostic testing, and a passion for advancing patient outcomes.
In addition this job includes front office reception skills and billing and coding skills for medical eye services, in which training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Collect and process specimens through Tear assay collection.
- Perform clinical tests including Auto-refraction, advanced visual field testing topography/keratometry, measurement of eye pressures (tonomtery).
- Imaging and photography across a broad spectrum of devices including advanced retinal photography, OCT imaging of retina and corneal tissues, meibography, axial length biometry, and dynamic tear evaluation.
- Updating medical history and medications lists and rooming patients.
- Communicating and returning phone calls with patients per doctor's request.
- Setting up minor procedure surgical trays.
- Competence in operating medical laboratory equipment safely while adhering to aseptic techniques; knowledge of physiology relevant to diagnostic testing.
- Answering phones, setting appointments, verifying insurance coverage
- Billing and coding for medical tests and procedures
Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
