Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently to various destinations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and the ability to handle different types of trucks, including dump trucks, roll-off trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers.
Duties
- Operate and drive various types of trucks including dump trucks, roll-off trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers.
- Safely load and unload freight at designated locations while ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes traveled, and cargo transported as per regulatory requirements.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving on highways and local roads.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues on the road.
- Ensure that all cargo is secured properly before transport to prevent damage during transit.
Skills
- Proficient in truck driving with experience in handling various types of vehicles including dump trucks, roll-off trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations related to commercial driving.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and identify mechanical issues when they arise.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently while managing time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
