Ravenscroft is seeking a Grounds and Fields Supervisor in the Facilities Department. This role oversees the grounds crew and helps maintain the Ravenscroft campus and athletic fields, ensuring the school's grounds and facilities remain safe, well-maintained, and presentable for the school community.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on grounds and equipment work, takes pride in a well-kept campus, and is ready to lead a small team within a collaborative facilities department.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Facilities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises a staff of 3 to 5 ground personnel
What You'll Do
- Supervise and delegate tasks to grounds crew based on work orders, observations, and schedule
- Ensure grounds are kept cut, trimmed, pruned, trash-free, and presentable at all times
- Assist Athletics with field lining, cutting, and maintenance
- Maintain safety records and ensure equipment is kept in proper working condition
- Assist with hiring and performance evaluation of grounds staff
- Operate and maintain mowers and other landscaping equipment
- Support the Leadership program and broader life of the Facilities Department

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent and work experience in landscape and grounds maintenance
- Knowledge of general building maintenance and grounds equipment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels
- A valid North Carolina driver's license
- Willingness and ability to obtain a CDL license
Preferred:
- Experience with athletic field preparation and maintenance.
- Experience in a school, campus, or institutional grounds environment.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
- Computer skills
- Experience with Project Management software
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This role is based on Ravenscroft's campus and involves regular outdoor work across grounds and athletic fields. The position requires the ability to negotiate campus, work in extreme weather conditions, and safely operate landscape equipment such as zero-turn mowers, reel mowers, blowers, and trimmers.
