About the Position
A growing Oklahoma City catering company is seeking an experienced Lead Event Chef to help execute weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.
This is an event based position with flexible hours. The ideal candidate understands that catering is seasonal. Some weeks may have only prep work, while others may include multiple large events. We're looking for someone who enjoys building systems, leading a team, and growing alongside an expanding company.
Responsibilities
- Lead food preparation and execution for catered events ranging from intimate gatherings to events with 450+ guests.
- Assist with menu planning, food production, and event logistics.
- Supervise kitchen staff and maintain an organized, efficient work environment.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with inventory, ordering, and food cost management.
- Work closely with ownership to improve kitchen operations and event execution
- Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of catering, banquet, or high volume kitchen experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a kitchen team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining high quality standards.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Reliable transportation.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and event days.
Schedule
This is a flexible, event based position rather than a traditional full time schedule.
Upcoming events include weddings, corporate breakfasts, plated dinners, buffet service, cocktail receptions, and private events throughout the Oklahoma City metro area.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
