Special Education Teacher – Job Overview
We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other learning needs. The role includes individualized instruction, IEP development, behavior support, progress monitoring, and collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs and individualized lesson plans.
- Provide differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications.
- Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Use positive behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with parents, therapists, psychologists, and school staff.
- Support students with ASD and developmental disabilities.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Special Education teaching license/certification.
- Classroom experience working with students with disabilities.
- Experience with autism, developmental disabilities, and behavioral support preferred/required.
- Strong IEP, classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Pay: $57.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
