POSITION SUMMARY
The Line Cook prepares food to Buona Beef standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. This role is responsible for cooking and assembling menu items accurately, restocking the line, following recipes and portion standards, and helping deliver a fast, high-quality guest experience. The ideal candidate works well under pressure, moves with urgency, and takes pride in consistency and teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Food preparation & line execution
- Prepare and cook menu items by following Buona recipes, procedures, and portion standards
- Learn and work assigned stations such as beef, broiler, pizza, salads, prep, or other kitchen positions as needed
- Complete food prep tasks including chopping, slicing, seasoning, portioning, and stocking ingredients
- Cook food to order with speed and accuracy during dine-in, carryout, and drive-thru rushes
- Restock the line and monitor product levels throughout the shift
Quality, safety & sanitation
- Always maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including stations, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
- Follow food safety, temperature control, labeling, storage, and waste procedures
- Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets Buona quality standards for taste, appearance, and accuracy
- Handle raw and finished product safely and dispose of waste according to established procedures
Speed, accuracy & teamwork
- Work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Coordinate with cashiers, expediters, and other team members to complete orders correctly and on time
- Communicate clearly about low product levels, ticket flow, and operational needs during the shift
- Support opening, mid-shift, and closing duties as assigned
Additional duties
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Previous restaurant, kitchen, or food service experience preferred
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, dependability, and a positive team attitude
- Ability to follow recipes, prep procedures, and portion standards consistently
- Food Handler certificate required or ability to obtain one within the required timeframe
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically active kitchen work
Preferred
- Experience in a quick-service or fast-casual restaurant
- Experience working multiple stations in a high-volume kitchen
- Knife skills and familiarity with basic prep techniques
- ServSafe certification is a plus
- Bilingual skills are a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires standing for extended periods, frequent walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motions. The Line Cook must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and work safely around hot equipment, sharp tools, and varying kitchen temperatures. Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
