Seeking an Experienced Steel Fabrication Shop Superintendent
The Position-
Supervises-
* 40-50 Production personnel activities
* AWS welding, machining, shipping, and material handling
* Cleaning, painting, staging and loading
* Fitting, Assembly, Jigs & Fixture use/setup
* AISC document & non-conformance controls
* ASTM Material usage, Inventory Control procedures
* Shipping, Delivery
* Department Revision Control
Evaluates -
* employee performance, and assigns tasks
* production goal status & adjusts to achieve expectations
* Recruiting, Testing, Training new hires (& junior employees)
* workforce adherence to company policies
Contributes input for/in-
* staff / interdepartmental meeting topics
* project / production co-ordination meetings
* project & change order recordkeeping
* AISC Audits
Maintains Safe Work Place Practices
* Corrects environment hazards
* Halts Unsafe Procedures
* Directs Periodic Equipment Maintenance
Experience, Skills, Education-
* 7-10 years in Structural Steel Fabrication
* progressive hand on experiences with machines, welding, fitting
* 3-5 years demonstrated cross & inter- department supervision & teambuilding
* has ability to teach/train/monitor/retrain
* Education- High School Grad - Associates etc. in relevant coursework
* Literate with Word, Excel, Outlook required
* Other helpful - AutoCAD, SDS2, Advance, BobCad, -
* Purchase Order usage, Mill Cert controls
* Production Control Software
* Tekla Software
* Blueprint reading & interpreting fabrication/weld drawings
*Proficiency with fabrication equipment (CNC Plasma, shears, rolls)
*Welding knowledge (MIG, Fluxcore, TIG, Subarc) & codes (AWS/ASME)
*Quality assurance & inspection (bolt/weld compliance)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
