American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring active IL RN licensure and Level 1 trauma experience.

Work in the Emergency Department of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
-
12-hour Evening/Night shifts required
-
Weekend and holiday rotation required

Float assignment to the Emergency Department at an affiliated Freeport, IL hospital location
-
13-week assignment length

Active IL RN license required
-
Minimum 2 years of experience required

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and either TNCC or TNS
-
Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department experience required

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification required

Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient care
-
Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved nursing standards and policies
-
Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
-
Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care including patient and family education
-
Participate in department performance improvement activities and shared governance
-
Provide clinical expertise and guidance across units in support of patients' longitudinal care plans

Exercise critical thinking on patient safety and escalate concerns through appropriate chain of command

Engage in professional nursing continuum, unit practice activities, and peer review processes
