Position Overview
The Retail Associate plays a dual role:
- Delivering outstanding customer service and driving sales
- Supporting in-store marketing and social media content creation
You’ll help customers find the best products for their pets while also helping us showcase new arrivals, promotions, events, and everyday moments across our digital platforms.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Experience & Sales (Primary Focus)
- Greet customers and pets warmly, creating a welcoming environment
- Engage customers to understand their pets’ needs and offer thoughtful product recommendations
- Resolve questions or concerns professionally and kindly
- Promote loyalty programs, email sign-ups, store events, and promotions
- Share customer feedback and insights with leadership
Social Media & Marketing Support
- Capture simple, authentic content (photos, short videos, stories, posts)
- Highlight new products, team moments, events, and daily life in-store
- Assist with weekly newsletters, promotional campaigns, and signage
- Contribute ideas for content, promotions, and community engagement
- Comfortably appear on camera occasionally
Professional marketing experience is not required, but creativity, initiative, and a willingness to learn are.
Store Operations
- Operate POS system accurately for sales and inventory
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Answer phones and route communication appropriately
- Receive, stock, and merchandise inventory
- Ensure grooming appointments are entered correctly
- Participate in inventory counts
Cleaning, Merchandising & Teamwork
- Maintain a clean, organized, visually appealing store
- Restock shelves and manage backstock
- Perform general cleaning tasks
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions
- Continue learning about pet nutrition, products, and customer service
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs
- Ability to stand for up to 8-hour shifts
- Comfortable bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and cleaning
- Willing to handle pet messes and cleaning tasks
- Flexible availability, including weekends and special events
- Weekday availability required
Please note: This is not a seasonal position. We are looking for a reliable team member interested in long-term, year-round employment with Three Tails.
Applicants must be available to work 30+ hours per week, Monday through Saturday, including consistent Saturday availability. Training for this position will begin in July.
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
