Job Title: Material Handler - Injection Molding
Department: Manufacturing
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Supervisor
Primary Purpose: Handling and stocking various materials to support production staff in the manufacturing process
Essential Functions:
- Support production by maintaining sufficient material at line
- Provide vacation coverage
- Maintain accurate material blend ratio, brand/upgrade as always required using the FIFO system (First in-First out)
- Perform material and line changeovers as instructed, safeguarding contamination
- Remove product from machines as instructed
- Maintain machine, plant, warehouse cleanliness
- Complete all appropriate paperwork
- Stage materials for upcoming changeovers
- Obtain a Hi-Lo License and operate safely at all times
- Complete daily Hilo inspection sheet
- Report on quality and safety issues to include needed repairs to immediate supervisor
- Perform color changes per work schedule
- Empty all rubbish containers at the end of each shift
- Remove old identification from containers prior to re-use
- Perform inventory control as needed
- Kaizen, 5s, Housekeeping
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in a plastics manufacturing environment (preferably automotive)
- Knowledge of inventory control
- Outstanding attendance record
- Light administration duties to include chart management
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Basic math skills
Physical Requirements: standing, lifting, bending, twisting, continuous movement
