Metropolitan Appliance is currently looking for career-interested people to fill an opening for our full time Warehouse Associate Level 2 position. The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in daily warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement, staging, and delivery of appliances. This position is responsible for morning load-outs, next-day staging, vendor pick-ups, drop-offs, and general warehouse upkeep. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Morning Load-Out
- Retrieve appliances from staging areas and prepare them for daily delivery routes.
- Safely load appliances into box trucks, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Verify load accuracy against delivery manifests or work orders.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues to the supervisor.
Staging & Inventory
- Organize and stage appliances for the following day’s deliveries.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move and position inventory.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming product from vendors.
- Maintain accurate placement of inventory to support efficient picking.
Vendor Pick-Ups & Drop-Offs
- Drive box trucks (up to 20’) to pick up appliances from various vendor locations.
- Perform customer and job-site drop-offs as assigned.
- Confirm quantities and condition of items at pick-up and delivery points.
- Obtain required signatures and documentation for all transactions.
Warehouse Maintenance
- Assist with trash removal, recycling, and disposal of packaging materials.
- Keep warehouse floors, staging areas, and loading docks clean and clear.
- Report equipment damage, safety hazards, or maintenance needs promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Valid forklift certification (current and in good standing).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate box trucks up to 20’ in length.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 100 lbs unassisted.
- Prior warehouse, logistics, or moving experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, manifests, and delivery instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance for early morning shifts.
