Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical nutrition, chronic disease management, and medical nutrition therapy. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient health through personalized nutrition plans, collaborative care, and patient education.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to develop individualized care plans that address specific dietary needs and health conditions.
- Provide expert nutrition counseling and education to patients, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and weight management strategies.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to integrate nutrition support into overall treatment plans.
- Manage nutrition support interventions such as tube feeding and specialized dietary modifications for patients with complex medical conditions.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient progress, update care plans, and track outcomes efficiently.
- Supervise or mentor junior staff or interns within the dietary department, fostering professional growth and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
- Stay current with advancements in clinical nutrition, physiology, and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to enhance patient care practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field; registration or licensure as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is preferred.
- Proven experience working with individuals with specific dietary needs across various settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, chronic disease management, and clinical nutrition principles.
- Experience with medical nutrition therapy (MNT), nutritional analysis, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with motivational interviewing techniques to support behavior change.
- Supervising experience within a healthcare or dietary setting is desirable.
- Familiarity with healthcare protocols involving tube feeding, care plans, and nutritional support strategies for geriatrics and patients with acute or chronic conditions.
