Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their identity, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Take accurate vital signs, record medical histories, and document symptoms to support clinical assessments
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, X-ray preparation, and basic life support when needed
- Manage medical documentation including ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), medical terminology entry, and updating patient records
- Support inpatient and outpatient care by monitoring patient status, performing intake assessments, and coordinating referrals or follow-up appointments
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols in hospital settings like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers
Experience
- Prior experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care
- Experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions such as scheduling and billing is required
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or radiology are advantageous
- Previous exposure to dermatology clinics or geriatrics care is a plus but not required
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments such as emergency departments or Level I Trauma Centers while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
