Duties
- Safely operate a 26-foot box truck for over-the-road deliveries, following planned routes and schedules.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load, secure, and unload shipments with proper manual lifting practices, ensuring weight handling safety standards are met.
- Deliver goods directly to customer locations, providing excellent customer service through professional communication and timely arrivals.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation via mobile devices, including delivery logs, manifests, and route reports.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during all driving activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or courier roles involving box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Warehouse experience with manual handling, material handling equipment operation (pallet jacks), and moving heavy loads.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for operating a non-CDL vehicle; clean driving record preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe lifting practices.
- familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation and documentation is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients.
