Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers accurately, handling all retail sales transactions with attention to detail and efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Manage cash drawer handling, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities and improve customer satisfaction.
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to maintain an attractive shopping environment.
- Support inventory management through stocking, product demos, and participating in periodic stock counts.
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or assisting via phone communication channels.
Skills
- Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations.
- Previous retail sales experience, especially in grocery or convenience store environments.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs better.
- Experience supervising or leading team members is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and basic math for transactions.
- Ability to handle cash drawer handling accurately while maintaining integrity and trustworthiness.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail math enhances performance in this role.
