Shell Construction Estimator

Position Overview
A growing construction organization is seeking an experienced Shell Construction Estimator to join its team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for shell construction projects, including foundations, structural concrete, masonry, framing, and exterior building components. The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.
- Solicit, analyze, and compare subcontractor and vendor quotations.
- Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value-engineering options.
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Track scope changes and revise estimates as required.
- Maintain knowledge of current labor rates, material costs, and market trends.
- Support preconstruction activities and assist with bid presentations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in shell, structural, concrete, commercial, multifamily, or residential construction.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building practices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
- Experience with quantity takeoffs and bid preparation.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, STACK, Sage Estimating, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
- Shell contractor or structural construction experience.
- Preconstruction or project management background.
- Knowledge of Florida construction practices and building codes.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
