We're looking for an experienced Hands On Development Engineering Technician to support new product development by building, testing, debugging, and improving electro-mechanical prototype systems before they reach production. This is a hands-on engineering role where no two projects are the same.

- Build and modify electro-mechanical prototypes from engineering drawings and documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Support product development engineers with prototype builds, testing, and design improvements.
- Set up fixtures and perform functional, reliability, and validation testing.
- Read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Recommend improvements to build processes for manufacturability and serviceability.
- Maintain organized engineering workstations, tools, and prototype inventory.
- Assist with engineering documentation, build procedures, and lab records.
- Coordinate project tasks using Jira and Agile methodologies.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineering technicians.
- 5+ years of Development Engineering, R&D, Prototype, or NPI experience
- Electro-mechanical prototype assembly and troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs
- Root cause analysis and hands-on problem solving
- Experience using precision measuring tools and metrology equipment
- Skilled with hand and power tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel & Outlook)
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Technical trade school or engineering technology education
- Experience in Medical Device, Robotics, Automation, Aerospace, or Capital Equipment industries
- ERP/MRP or Kinetic software experience
- Previous experience mentoring technicians or leading small projects
- Familiarity with Jira and Agile project environments
