LOCATION: Lancaster, PA
HOURS: Part Time (24 hours per week). Days.
Position Summary: Performs administrative and training responsibilities for Simulation training, American Heart Association AHA Programs BLS, ACLS, PALS initial certification and recertification courses. Performs duties according to Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital’s Life Support Program Coordinator’s instructions.
Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties:

Instruct LGH Life Support AHA courses: BLS, ACLS, PALS in accordance with the Life Support Program Coordinator for each course.

Teaches classes for Lancaster General Hospital’s employees; including all site locations when needed.

Communicates and collaborates with the Director of Nursing Professional Development and the Life Support Program CoordinatorAHA Training Center Coordinator.

Assist with maintaining Life Support equipment and manikins to meet standards for cleanliness and effective operation.

The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above: ·Provide setup, scenario programming, technical support, and coordination of equipment use for simulation based training.

Provides and or assists in-situ training for BLS, ACLS, PALS skills, and other mock code scenarios for hospital staff.

Assists with performing, coordinating and tracking, all training equipment maintenance in training site s.

Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and porocedures.

Other duties as assigned to support the department, entity, and health system organization.

Participates in any occasional evening weekend responsibilities for this position as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma
-
1+ years' experience in the Healthcare field such as an Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Medical Technician, or Registered Nurse

Experience teaching AHA programs such as BLS, ACLS, PALS etc.

Must hold an active AHA BLS, ACLS or PALS certification as an instructor; or hold an active BLS certification as an AHA instructor and qualified to become an AHA ACLS and or PALS Instructor within 3 months of hire.

Effective communication skills in various methods, verbal, written, and presentations.

Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and frequent interruptions.

Experience and strong technical skills with audiovisual equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Field

5+ years experience as an AHA Instructor
