Business Analyst Retirement Services
The Business Analyst supports large-scale Retirement Services initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role partners with business, operations, technology, data, and compliance teams to translate complex retirement and pension business needs into clear functional and data-driven requirements. The analyst plays a key role in enhancing retirement administration platforms, supporting regulatory initiatives, and improving plan sponsor and member experiences.
This is a delivery-focused role requiring strong retirement domain knowledge, comfort working with data, and experience operating within enterprise-grade governance and control frameworks.
Direct experience supporting Retirement Services, pension administration, or retirement recordkeeping platforms.
Strong understanding of Defined Contribution (DC) and/or Defined Benefit (DB) plans.
Familiarity with the retirement member lifecycle, including enrollment, contributions, investment elections, distributions, and retirement income.
Experience supporting regulatory-driven changes, plan amendments, or sponsor-specific requirements.
Background working in highly regulated financial services environments, including exposure to insurance or institutional wealth platforms.
Proven ability to elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements.
Experience producing BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
Strong skills in process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessment across end-to-end workflows.
Ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across business, operations, technology, compliance, and QA.
Experience supporting UAT planning, execution, and defect triage.
Working knowledge of SQL to support:
Data validation and reconciliation.
Analysis of retirement and plan data to confirm requirements.
Issue investigation and root-cause analysis.
Experience working with operational reporting, dashboards, or analytics tied to retirement platforms.
Understanding of data lineage, data quality, and upstream/downstream dependencies.
Ability to collaborate effectively with data engineering and reporting teams.
Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent requirement and delivery platforms.
Comfort supporting large, multi-system initiatives with complex dependencies.
Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly communicate risks, assumptions, and impacts.
Elicit and document business, functional, and data requirements for Retirement Services initiatives.
Translate retirement business processes into clear, actionable requirements and user stories.
Perform data analysis using SQL to validate requirements and support issue resolution.
Support retirement platform enhancements, plan changes, and regulatory initiatives.
Collaborate with technology, data, operations, and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Support UAT activities and ensure solutions meet business and compliance expectations.
Ensure alignment with internal controls, governance standards, and enterprise data practices.
5+ years of Business Analyst experience within financial services.
Hands-on experience supporting retirement services, pension administration, or recordkeeping platforms.
Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts.
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working in regulated, enterprise environments.
Experience with large-scale retirement recordkeeping systems.
Exposure to insurance, group benefits, or institutional wealth platforms.
Experience supporting platform modernization or system migration initiatives.
Strong understanding of data-driven reporting and operational metrics.
