Drives truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites.
- CDL A OR B REQUIRED
- Pre-trip inspection of ready-mix truck pursuant to D.O.T. regulations. Pre-trip inspection includes checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes, and other driver-operated controls for loading and unloading ready-mix.
- Safely drives truck to jobsite and arrives with the desired slump within customer or job specifications.
- Driver will add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemical admixtures, cement, or integral colors at plant or job site, as well as other products.
- Upon completion of each shift, driver will wash truck with a hose and brush, including the use of acidic solution when necessary.
- Ready-mix driver is responsible to call callout each day for start time.
- Each driver is expected to perform a post-trip inspection of the truck pursuant to DOT regulations.
- Performs other duties assigned by supervisor/management.
Experience and abilities you will need:
- High school diploma (minimum); or six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
- Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and meet company policy requirements
- Ability to deal with customers and other employees in a diplomatic manner, in a variety of stressful situations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Average Work Hours: 12 hours/day, 4 - 6 days/week
