Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, skilled & experienced Pet Groomer to join our team in our NEW 10,000 square foot pet care facility in West Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional pet care & grooming services. Leadership skills a must for this position and must be responsible & punctual. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for grooming pets to enhance their appearance and ensure their health and well-being. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will interact with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and preferences. WEKEEND AVAILABILITY A MUST!
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention.
- Utilize proper animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the pet and the groomer during grooming sessions.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming services, pet behavior, and aftercare instructions.
- Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Assist with heavy lifting of larger pets when necessary and ensure their comfort throughout the grooming process.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive environment for both pets and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification and previous experience in pet grooming or animal care is required for this position.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior, including restraint techniques and handling methods.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Experience as a Pet Care Technician or in Pet Care settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while ensuring the safety of pets during grooming sessions.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care in a safe environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week
