Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Multigrade Classroom Teacher to inspire and educate diverse student populations across multiple grade levels within a vibrant educational environment. Duties
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that accommodate multiple grade levels and diverse learning styles, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards and educational regulations
- Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities, implementing behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis when appropriate
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive strategies tailored for students with special needs, fostering a safe and supportive environment
- Collaborate closely with co-teachers, special education staff, therapists, parents, and administrators to coordinate instruction and support services
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement across different age groups
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods; analyze results to inform instruction and measure student progress
- Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student performance, IEP implementation, behavioral interventions, and compliance documentation in accordance with educational law and policies
Experience
- Proven classroom management experience in multigrade or multi-age settings with a focus on inclusive education practices
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development for diverse learners, including designing specialized curriculums for students with disabilities
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or other special needs populations
- Strong background in behavior management strategies tailored for students with behavioral challenges or special needs
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and compliance under special education law
- Proficiency in teaching literacy education, math (including algebra and calculus), physical education, creative writing, and library services as part of an integrated curriculum
- Skilled in applying teaching methods such as Montessori or other educational philosophies that support personalized learning approaches
- Excellent communication skills for mentoring colleagues, advising parents on educational strategies, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures, educational compliance requirements, learning technology tools, and the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style for instructional materials
