Birch Agency is currently seeking dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to join a supportive, student-centered school team in the Fayetteville, North Carolina area. This in-person opportunity allows clinicians to support students from Early Intervention through 12th grade while working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. SLPAs play a vital role in helping students develop communication skills that contribute to academic achievement, social development, and overall success.

The School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) provides direct speech-language therapy services and instructional support under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA assists with implementing treatment plans, documenting student progress, preparing therapy materials, and supporting communication goals in accordance with school, state, and district guidelines.
Provide speech-language therapy services as directed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
Implement individualized treatment plans and therapy activities developed by the supervising SLP
Assist with screenings and data collection related to student communication needs
Document student performance and progress during therapy sessions
Prepare and organize therapy materials, activities, and equipment
Support students with speech, language, articulation, fluency, voice, and social communication goals
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other related service providers
Maintain accurate and timely service logs, attendance records, and required documentation
Communicate appropriately with families and school personnel as directed by the supervising SLP
Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities as required
Adhere to state regulations and district policies regarding SLPA practice and supervision
Associates or Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field
Active North Carolina SLPA License/Registration (required)
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to supporting students with diverse communication needs
This school-based role offers the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative special education team while supporting students' speech and language development across multiple age groups in a structured educational setting. The SLPA will receive supervision and mentorship from licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and school-based professionals.
